Milk's favorite cookie is joining the big leagues!

What do Oreo cookies and basketball have in common? For starters, both are the GOAT ("greatest of all time") in their respective lanes—food and sports—and now they're linked in a sweet new partnership.

Mondelez International recently announced a multi-year deal with the NBA. The conglomerate, which owns Nabisco snack favorites like Ritz, Chips Ahoy, and Sour Patch Kids, will go all-in on basketball-centric products. The first brand to step onto the court is none other than Oreo with a special limited-edition run of those classic cookies.

The NBA Dynasty cookies will feature the classic components of an Oreo and stamped logos of six legacy teams. The selected ones are the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Heat.

It's appropriate that Oreo has been chosen to represent the NBA. After all, their status as "milk's favorite cookie" kind of makes them the GOAT of the sweet snack world, much like Michael Jordan or LeBron James with their legendary slam-dunks.

In a press release, Associate Director Scale Consumer and Retail Engagement Rachel Lawson commented on the "shared commitment" to uniting the public and their communities in this special collaboration. “Through this partnership, we will create moments across our brand portfolio that unite all NBA enthusiasts – from teammates and coaches, to fans and families.”

These cookies may be contentious for basketball fans on rival teams, but if there's anything that can unite us, it's chocolate and cream filling. Plus, who doesn't love an Oreo? Even if you're a Lakers fan to the end, there's no way you're not going to eat the whole bag the next time the game's on.

The limited-run cookies can be found on grocery store shelves later this month, and considering the ubiquity of Oreos, you probably won't need to jump through any hoops to get your hands on them. While you're at it, make sure to enter the "Taste Greatness" sweepstakes for a chance to win some big prizes, including a trip to the 2022 NBA All-Star Game!

What do you think of these cookies, basketball fans? Will you be picking up a bag or two? Let us know in the comments!
