The 500-foot aerial adventure course will open in the spring of 2019.

Got a kid who loves to climb? You're in luck! Currently under construction at the Children's Museum, the new Adventure Forest will feature rope swings for your little monkey, 70-foot rainbow prism slides for your daring thrill-seeker, and a glass bridge and lookout area for your explorer. All the fun will be included with general admission when the exhibit opens in the spring.

The course will also include a hidden journey created in collaboration with artist Wes Sam-Bruce. Designers and engineers worked diligently to make sure the Adventure Forest complied with safety guidelines, and the course will be staffed around the clock.

While the exhibit is coming together, the museum is still working on the finishing touches. According to the Children's Museum website, "For the next couple months, we are working on the permitting, the interior finishes, the art installation, the landscaping, grading and irrigation, and testing flow, capacity and staffing procedures."

Mike Yankovich, president and CEO of the Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, said that outdoor play improves the physical and mental health of children and helps them perform better in school. "So we really wanted to build upon all the momentum of all the benefits that come with outdoor play," he said

It sure sounds like a giant upgrade from your typical McDonald's Play Place or Chuck E. Cheese jungle gym. We only have one question: Is it socially appropriate for adults to swing and slide their way through the Adventure Forest as well?
