Week 5 of the 2020 NFL season is in the books, and we see two winless New York teams, an unstoppable Russell Wilson, another head coach and general manager fired, and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's horrific ankle injury.
Buccaneers, 19 – Chicago, 20
Chicago quarterback Nick Foles is now 2-0 against Tom Brady, who lost to him Thursday, as well as in that Patriots Superbowl LII loss against the Eagles. Tom hasn't shaken his hand in either game. Foles is clutch, scoring 14 points in the final two minutes of the first half.
Jaguars, 14 – Texans, 30
With the firing of head coach and general manager Bill O'Brien last week, the Texans get their first win of the season. Hopefully this trend continues because they have no first- or second-round draft picks.
Bengals, 3 – Ravens, 27
The Bengals have their fair share of problems, and they were playing an insane Ravens defense who sacked Bengals QB Joe Burrow seven times. He has now been sacked 22 times this season, and I hope he doesn't become an Andrew Luck or RG3 that's riddled with injuries.
Panthers, 23 – Falcons, 16
This was the last chance for (now former) Falcons head coach Dan Quinn, and he blew it. He and the general manager are now out, for Atlanta. Bridgewater got his third win of the season, and the Panthers are looking very nice.
Raiders, 40 – Chiefs, 32
Patrick Mahomes was off this game, and Raiders head coach Jon Gruden loves explosive plays. The Raiders are a scrappy team this year, and I'm excited to see what they do.
Cardinals, 30 – Jets, 10
Coming off of two bad performances, Cardinals QB Kyler Murray beats the worst team in the league in the New York Jets. The Jets move to 0-5 and will most likely get the #1 pick in the 2021 NFL draft.
Eagles, 29 – Steelers, 38
Chase Claypool, the ROOKIE wide reciever out of Pittsburgh, had four touchdowns. 'Nuff said. (The Eagles are still riddled with injures per usual.)
Rams, 30 – Washington, 10
Washington benched QB Dwayne Haskins and started with Kyle Allen who took a nasty blow to the head early in the game and had to sit out. Then came the COMEBACK KID ALEX SMITH. This was his first game back from the gruesome leg injury he suffered in 2018 that required 17 surgeries in 9 months. They lost, but I was still rooting for him.
Dolphins, 43 – 49ers, 17
49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo did not look like he'd recovered from that high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 2. He was uneasy and was ultimately benched at halftime. The 49ers' defense is still missing key players, and the Dolphins offense was just on fire.
Giants, 34 – Cowboys, 37
I'm praying for Dak Prescott. With that being said, the only two wins the Cowboys have this season are against an 0-5 Falcons team who blew a historic lead and the 0-5 Giants.
Colts, 23 – Browns, 32
The Browns are looking like the real deal by beating the most efficient defense in the league in the Colts. Speaking of the Colts, I think they're starting to see the drawbacks of signing quarterback Phillip Rivers.
Vikings, 26 – Seahawks, 27
Russell Wilson is the clear MVP as of now. He led a game-winning drive from his own 6-yard line and converted on TWO 4th downs. He keeps saving this team from its shaky defense.
Saints, 30 – Chargers, 27
The Chargers can't seem to win a close game; they lost due to a missed field goal at the end of regulation. I give the Chargers rookie QB Justin Herbert the edge over the Bengals' Joe Burrow, but that's only because he has weapons that can catch and a decent offensive line. Drew Brees does not look the best; I'm worried that when he plays decent teams, he falters.
Tonight, we see two undefeated teams face off in the Bills and Titans. I'm rooting for Josh Allen and the Bills since the Titans rival my Colts in the AFC South. Let me know how you feel about this week/this season/your team in the comments.
