Do you love animals? Do you like to drink craft beer and eat from food trucks? Do you by chance want all of that in one place? Head to "Night of the Living Zoo" at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo on Friday, Oct. 27!

Every year around Halloween, The Smithsonian National Zoo’s Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) hosts an adult-only party on the zoo grounds -- Night of the Living Zoo. WHERE: Smithsonian’s National Zoo | 3001 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., 20008 WHEN: Friday, October 27, 2017 | 6:30–10 p.m. Come in costume and prance around amongst the tigers, lions, and bears while sipping on craft beer! You’ll also be able to nibble on food from some of D.C.’s most popular food trucks -- like Rito Loco, DC Empanadas, and The Big Cheese. Once you’re ready for dessert, check out Ben and Jerry’s for a delicious ice cream treat. The full list of vendors can be found on the event's website here. Night of the Living Zoo If you’re in a spooky mood, you’ll want to check out the after-hours exhibits and animals. You can go to the Small Mammal House, Reptile Discovery Center, and Great Cats Circle. There’s nothing quite like being in an animal costume (which we assume you would wear to such an event), while also looking at animals -- especially the creepier ones like snakes. But also, it’s really cool to see what the lions are up to at nighttime!
Other features will include live performances and entertainment, a costume contest, snowless tubing, and a ride on the Speedwell Conservation Carousel. Tickets come in two formats: regular admission for $40 ($30 for members) or VIP access for $90 ($65 for members). With the VIP access, you get three drink tickets, a souvenir tumbler, complimentary food tastings, exclusive animal experiences and viewings, and private access to the VIP bar and lounge, as well as a dance party. The full list of perks can be found here. Night of the Living Zoo Halloween is always jam-packed with events, bar crawls, soirees, and costume parties to attend. Friday's Night of the Living Zoo is the perfect way to kick of the celebratory weekend and get the party started!
