Hungry? Here are seven of the best Pizza places in the Mile High City!

Let’s just start by saying that a “pie fix” isn’t totally accurate. I crave pizza almost every day, so I'm definitely in a committed relationship with this Italian masterpiece. That being said, it's my job—nay, duty, to share some of the most popular places to get your fix. (Listed in no particular order.)

Viale Pizza & Kitchen

Dubbed a “neighborhood gem”, Viale Pizza & Kitchen’s contemporary yet homey atmosphere and extensive menu of everything Italian is a must in Denver. In fact, it might just be Denver's best "affordable" Italian restaurant, as former Frasca Food & Wine (the fancy small-plate Boulder haunt typically ranked Colorado's best restaurant) chefs have given the menu their blessing.

We highly suggest you try their “Truffle Shuffle”. With an olive oil base, this pizza is topped with mushroom, caramelized onions, smoked mozzarella, and truffle oil. (Get. In. My. Belly.)

Looking for a pick me up after work? Their happy hour has a plethora of snacks, plus their 10” One Topping Pizza for just $8!

Cart-Driver

With two locations in RiNo and LoHi, Cart-Driver offers an intimate, auto-inspired atmosphere with out-of-this-world Antipasti and mouth-watering pizzas. If you love the traditional pie, go for the Mariner, with tomato sauce, garlic, and oregano. Wanting to take a walk on the wild side? The Clam is topped with littleneck clam, pancetta, toasted garlic, and Panna.

Kaos Pizzeria

A regular on the “Denver’s Best” list, Kaos Pizzeria is located in a 100-year-old brick cottage with a garden patio, making it an oasis for Denverites to gather and enjoy a truly unique experience. They import their flour from a fourth-generation family farm located right east of Naples, used specifically for high-temperature wood-fired cooking. Better yet, their “Farm-to-Table'' and “Garden-to-Plate” approach ensures you will taste the highest quality of veggies, herbs, and meat.

Crush Pizza + Tap

Voted “Best Thick Crust Pizza” by Westword in 2016, 2017, and 2019, this casual neighborhood pizzeria will not disappoint. From its award-winning wings to specialty pizzas, Crush Pizza & Tap has a diverse menu that pairs well with its extensive list of craft drafts.

Famous J’s

Famous Original J’s Pizza is an NYC-style pizza that doesn’t need to try hard to be the real deal. Located in the Five Points area and known for its rectangular “grandma” pie, this style of pizza is made with a different dough that undergoes a seven-day fermentation and is cooked in rectangular pans, resulting in a thick, crunchy crust.

White Pie

We can always use more pizzerias, and White Pie should definitely be a go-to. The neighborhood favorite specializes in New Haven-style pizza, which is a rarity in Denver. What is it? New Haven-style pizza is a Neapolitan-influenced pizza that has a thin, crisp crust and chewy inside. It’s traditionally baked in coal ovens, which adds a distinctive char to the crust. This style is refreshing and a good break from the “traditional” pie.

Pizza Republica

Derived from the Latin phrase, "res publica," which translates into “a public affair”, Pizza Republica is just that. Its rustic ambiance and Neapolitan-style pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired brick oven at over 1000 degrees, which brings a charbroiled smoky flavor and melts the handmade mozzarella to perfection.
