Book a spot on one of the city's coolest boat tours!

Potomac Paddle Club provides a unique BYOB experience, blending D.C. monuments, plenty of pedaling, and a whole lot of fun. This hybrid paddle boat provides tours of the D.C. waterfront and a great opportunity to get some exercise while you're at it.

Start by getting a group of friends together and booking a 90-minute cruise. If you can muster up 8 to 12 warm bodies, you'll have the whole boat to yourselves. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the boat is only going out in "Paddle Pods" of self-organized groups who bring their own food and drink on board.

On the day of your trip, pack a cooler or two with some of your favorite beverages and load up a playlist. You're about to see the city from a whole new vantage point. The pickup and drop-off point is the dock in front of Nick's Riverside Grill in Georgetown. Get there a little early and buy some tasty local treats to go with what's in the cooler!

Paddle boat, monuments

If you're so inclined, you can provide some of the manpower for the paddlewheel. When you get tired of that, just let the motors take over. Your boat captain will take care of everything. The biggest decision you'll have to make is what song to play next.

Act fast if you want to cruise during a particular weekend. Spots fill up quickly, especially during cherry blossom season, which is late March to April. Reservations are now available from March 20, 2021, through the summer.

For more information, or to make a reservation, head to the official Potomac Paddle Club website. You can also follow along on their Instagram account for updates and photos from the water.
