Race Along the Potomac at the George Washington Patriot Run on Sept. 8

Run along the historic GW Parkway and end up with a celebratory beer at the beautiful Mount Vernon Estate. What better way to spend a Sunday?

Runners of all ages will love this opportunity to race alongside the Potomac River. This scenic course is unlike any other and you can register online to participate in either a 5K, 10K, or a free children's fun run. At the end of the day, you get a finisher's medal, bragging rights, and some great memories of this historic course.

Know Before You Go

Get there early! Road closures for the race will make a northbound approach up GW Parkway impossible. If you're cutting it close to the start time, take Route 1 and head down to Mount Vernon by the Grist Mill.
The children's Fun Run is free, but you must register each child who wants to participate.
You must be 21 to consume alcohol at the finish line; be prepared to provide identification if asked.
Unless you are directed to an overflow parking area, do not park in bus lanes.
