The ice cream being recalled may have pieces of metal mixed in with the product, causing a potential choking hazard.

Check your freezer! Weis Market and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have issued official recall notices of two brands of ice cream: Weis Quality Cookies and Cream (48-ounce container) and Klein's Vanilla Dairy Ice Cream (3-gallon commercial tub).

In all, over 11,000 containers of these products are included in the action. A consumer found a piece of metal, presumably from the manufacturing site, intact in a carton of the Weis ice cream. Additional pieces of metal are potentially present in other cartons, creating the possibility of a choking hazard if ingested.

The Klein's ice cream was sold to a single retail location and has been successfully pulled out of circulation.

The Weis ice cream was available for sale in East Coast states, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and West Virginia. You can identify the recalled Weis ice cream by the UPC symbol (041497-01253) and the "sell by" date of October 28, 2021, on the bottom of the container.
