May brings the beginning of farmers' market season in the city, and we've rounded up some of the best for you!
For many, warmer weather means leisurely weekend mornings spent finding the freshest local produce. Everything from wild ramps to small-batch bread is on offer at some of these D.C. farmers' markets, so break out that reusable grocery tote and hit the streets!
Capital Harvest on the Plaza
WHEN: Fridays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. | May-November
WHERE: Woodrow Wilson Plaza | 13th and Pennsylvania Avenue NW | Washington, D.C.
Visit their website for a full list of vendors – This well-organized market has a TON of unique products for sale. Local honey from Rock Hill Honeybee Farms, low-sugar, cold-pressed juices from Senzu Juicery, and small-batch scoops from The Inside Scoop are just a few of the treats you can find there.
Parking is available at the Reagan Building's underground parking garage or you can take the Metro to Federal Triangle or Metro Center.

Eastern Market
WHEN: Tuesday-Friday 7 a.m.-7 p.m. | Saturday 7 a.m.-6 p.m. | Sunday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Eastern Market, D.C.'s historic indoor/outdoor market, is a Capitol Hill institution. Want to grab breakfast before you shop? No problem – head to Market Lunch inside or to the food trucks outside. You've got the permanent vendors in the main hall selling everything from flowers to gourmet cheese or freshly griddled half-smokes. Outside, you've got the seasonal folks who bring in fresh produce and more items from local farms and artisans.
The weekend flea market is a great place to pick up interesting artwork, vintage postcards, or handmade jewelry. You're going to want to spend at least a few hours just wandering around.
Street parking is available, but you have to get there early. Take the Metro to Eastern Market station for the easiest trip in.

14th and U Farmers' Market
WHEN: Saturdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. | May-November
WHERE: 14th Street and U Street NW | Washington, D.C.
This producer-only market has strong ties to the community it feeds. You don't have to go out to the 'burbs to find your farm-fresh produce!
Street parking in this neighborhood is extremely limited so try taking the Metro to the U Street station. They are also directly across from several city bus lines. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Palisades Farmers' Market
WHEN: Sundays, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. year-round
WHERE: 48th Place and MacArthur Boulevard | Washington, D.C.
This year-round Sunday market is a local favorite for residents in Northwest and beyond. Check out their website for a full list of vendors and plan a trip out to see what they've got. Get some fresh goat cheese from Spriggs Delight Farm or some delicious seafood from Cold Country Salmon. You'll want to browse the entire market for all of your favorite products.
