The amusement park will have capacity and health restrictions.

Six Flags America in Prince George’s County has announced it will begin a phased-in reopening on July 1, just in time for the holiday weekend. Park hours will be restricted to 11 a.m.—7 p.m. for the first few weeks, and the Hurricane Harbor water park will remain closed until further notice. The first couple of days the park will be open to season pass holders only. Six Flags will be adding health and safety measures that include temperature checks, distance markers, and mobile food ordering.

The park will open to the general public on Friday, July 3. Visitors must make a reservation online, and tickets will not be available for purchase at the gate. Visitors will be required to wear masks, and they can be purchased at the park. Masks are just one part of the park’s effort to keep visitors safe this summer.

“The health and safety of our guests and team members remains our number one priority, and we are very excited to open and welcome our guests back to Six Flags America,” said park president Rick Howarth. “The new safety measures we have in place are designed to create an environment where our guests can have fun with family and friends and feel safe while doing so.”

Reservation systems will stagger the number of people coming into the park, and rides will have seats blocked off to create safe social distances. All areas of the park will be cleaned and sanitized throughout the day and hand-washing stations will be available throughout. Visitors can order food using mobile devices, and it will be delivered complete with utensils and condiments. Employees and guests will be given temperature checks, and the park has employed a contactless system for bag checks.

Tickets for Six Flags America are on sale now and start at $34.99 for a one-day pass and $79.99 for a season pass.
