Suzanne Morphew was reported missing on May 10, 2020.

*Updated on May 5, 2021, at 3:55 p.m.:

Barry Morphew, the husband of missing Colorado mom Suzanne Morphew, has just been arrested. He faces first-degree murder charges, tampering with evidence, and attempting to influence a public servant, according to online court records.

Throughout the nearly year-long investigation, Barry has been adamant about his innocence, even going as far as recording a plea video back when Suzanne was first reported missing.

Numerous searches, interviews, and tips have taken place in regards to this case, says the Chafee County Sheriff's Office.

The Chaffee County Jail has confirmed that Barry is an inmate. Per the news conference (below), he was taken into custody "without incident" around 9:15 a.m. at his home near Poncha Springs. Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze says that authorities do not expect any more arrests in the case.

"Well, we believe that she is not alive. We've filed first-degree murder charges — or are in the process of filing first-degree murder charges — so our belief is that Suzanne is not alive at this time," Spezze said during the briefing.

Suzanne's body has not been found. The investigation is still on-going.
