Celebrate the birds and the bees at the Maryland Zoo this Valentine's Day.
Though it seems that we just cleaned up the glitter from New Year’s, it’s already time to think about the next big holiday -- Valentine’s Day!
This year, Valentine's Day falls on a Thursday, but it's usually acceptable to celebrate on the weekend. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate that doesn’t include the typical steak dinner, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore has just the thing. The zoo has concocted a very creative event to mark the day called “Sex at the Zoo."

The love-themed evening is designed to entertain and teach humans all about love in the wild. Educators from the zoo will be on hand to describe the behavior of amorous rhinos, coy elephants, and other casanovas from the animal kingdom. Guests will be treated to cocktails, appetizers, and sweet treats, all while being serenaded by music from the Jazz Caravan. You'll also get a chance to do a meet-and-greet with some of the zoo’s animals during cocktail hour.
Open to both singles and couples, this 21-and-over event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2018, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Maryland Zoo’s Mansion House Porch.
Tickets are $80 for singles and $150 for couples and include an open bar, food, live music, interaction with the animals, and free parking.
