The sparkling water craze is going strong in Colorado.

There's something in the water, and in this case, that's a good thing.

Alcohol-infused seltzer waters are plentiful on store shelves and a new product will hit the market here in Colorado that has a different twist on the highly popular beverage: THC-infused sparkling water, courtesy of local company Spherex. Yes, you heard that right! THC-infused seltzer water, available only on dispensary shelves.

The new product, PHYX, comes in an 8.4-oz bottle and contains 2.5 mg of THC, as well as 2.5 mg of CBD. Offered in four flavors; natural, grapefruit, lime, and dragon fruit, the water has no cannabis taste or smell. PHYX also contains no sugar, no gluten, is calorie-free, and made with all-natural ingredients.

The new take on this popular beverage has a low dose of THC and CBD and is intended for consumers who want to start slow, giving a very low-key effect that wears off within about an hour.

"Edibles typically begin at 5mg, but we thought it was important to go the microdosing route with PHYX; at just 2.5mg of THC and CBD, it is designed for consumers who want to start slow, understand how cannabis affects their body, and eventually make it a viable alternative to alcohol or other edible products," said Michael Green, Chairman of Spherex.

In a press release, the company describes the product:

"Through the company's proprietary nano-encapsulation technology, PHYX is absorbed through the tongue and throat allowing consumers to feel its effects within minutes. Each serving produces a cannabis experience that lasts approximately one hour, allowing the consumer to continue their day without lingering sensations."

Spherex has been around since 2014 and is a major presence in the cannabis oil production industry, being one of the leaders in the field. They use a carbon dioxide process to extract THC oil from the cannabis plant and have established themselves as a leader and one of the top-selling brands in Colorado’s cannabis concentrate market.

The first shipments of PHYX are on the way to dispensaries now, and customers in Colorado can soon try the water for themselves.

This new version of sparkling seltzer water is sure to be popular with a lot of people, especially those who are health conscious and want to experience the effects of cannabis without having to smoke or ingest an edible.
