We don't think there's a better place to enjoy a round of golf than gorgeous Colorado! Golf Digest has ranked the best golf courses in our state. The top three on the list also made Golf Digest's list of top 100 in the nation! Here they are...

The Country Club at Castle Pines

Castle Rock, Colorado (ranked at #42 nationwide) 7,696 yards, Par 72

With its hilly terrain and views of the majestic Rockies in the distance, this golf course is oh-so-very-Colorado. Designed by golf great Jack Nicklaus in the early 1980s, the course was recently renovated to include resurfaced greens and better playability.

A person can play The Country Club [at Castle Pines] and feel he’s had a great time no matter what his score, simply because of the views.” -- Jack Nicklaus

Ballyneal Golf Club

Holyoke, Cololorado (ranked at #50 nationwide) 7,147 yards, Par 71

This one's a true eastern Colorado experience. Designed by Tom Doak, this course is literally in the middle of nowhere, certain to put you at one with nature. No golf carts, no tee markers -- just raw, unadulterated golf. It boasts firm and fast conditions -- not to mention, wind.

For a walking golfer, there can be only be a handful of experiences that rival time spent at Ballyneal – especially if you are on the property with friends. The club is private, laid back and only reached after driving several miles along a dirt road located a few minutes south of Holyoke. While you may be ‘in the middle of nowhere,’ the passionate walking golfer will feel very much ‘at home.’” -- Rob Rigg, The Walking Golfer’s Society

Cherry Hills Country Club

Cherry Hills Village, Colo. (ranked at #73 nationwide) 7,348 yards, Par 72

Cherry Hills has been around for almost 100 years. It was the scene of Arnold Palmer's infamous U.S. Open win in 1960 and has been home to multiple U.S. Opens and other championships tournaments over the years. Lovely scenery makes it no surprise that this one has continued to make the top 100 every year since 1973.
