Here's our guide on where to woo in Washington, D.C.!

Let’s start by clearing up one of the biggest misconceptions about Valentine’s Day: how it is spelled. Valentine is a name of a person, hence singular and possessive when it comes to his day, so the apostrophe s becomes mandatory. "Valentines Day" is wrong because there is only one St. Valentine linked to the celebration, and it would be a mistake to pluralize his name. #grammarfacts

But I digress.

D.C. may not come out as the most romantic city in the world, but there is always hope—and also, there is always OCN. Here are the top five most romantic things you can do in D.C. this Valentine’s day.

Reinvent the Capital Wheel

Besides the icy cold breeze outside, the breathtaking views from this 180-foot-tall observation deck offer you one more reason to cuddle up. Fear not: the 42 climate-controlled gondolas give you the most romantic views of the most iconic D.C. landmarks, like the Washington Monument, the Capitol building, downtown Alexandria, and of course, the Potomac River. Gazing into each other’s eyes is optional.

Odyssey (pronounced Oh! DC)

Money can’t buy you love, but at $135 per person on the romantic Odyssey cruise, it's worth trying. It'll buy happiness at the very least. The cruise includes a three-hour trip on the Potomac River, featuring the most breathtaking views of the nation’s capital, a plated dinner with attentive tableside service, curated music selection from an onboard DJ, and (with an upgrade) your choice of creative cocktails, wine, and beer from a well-stocked cash bar—not to mention a bottle of Moet Imperial for $69.90.

Odyssey III DC will cruise Friday, February 14, 2020, from 7 to 10 p.m. Boarding starts at 6 p.m., with departure from 580 Water Street SW, Washington D.C.
