It's no secret that Colorado is known for its beautiful locations. No matter which direction you drive from Denver, you can be sure to encounter something breathtaking at some point. We'd like to take some of the guesswork out of sightseeing and take a look at some of the best areas in Colorado for motorcycle riders.
Starting with ...
Peak to Peak Highway

This iconic drive gives you the best of Colorado scenery without having to drive too far from Denver. With starting locations in Golden, Arvada, Boulder, and Lyons, this drive is perfect you're looking for an easy (but breathtaking) sampler of all the beauty that Colorado has to offer. Riders will get to see some breathtaking expanses of alpine forests and scenic meadows while the snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains are visible in almost every direction. The ride is approximately 60 miles and commonly takes between two and three hours.
The Walden Loop

This all-day trip gives you a scenic view of the Continental Divide. Twice! This ride starts near Loveland and wrapping through Rocky Mountain National before passing through Walden and finishing in Fort Collins. If you leave early enough, the 220-mile trip can be finished in a single day, but most riders suggest making it a weekend trip. Riders get to dip through the Poudre Canyon, and have good odds of seeing wildlife like elk, deer, and eagles!
San Juan Mountain Skyway

A part of this historic road is also known as the "Million Dollar Highway" and it's not hard to see why! This 225-mile stretch passes through multiple national parks, historic mining towns, and some of Colorado's most picturesque ski resorts. Along the way, you can respect to see red-rock canyons, rich river valleys, hot springs, and—of course—plenty of gorgeous mountain peaks. While you won't be taking home any fancy chocolates, this area is known as the "Switzerland of Colorado" for its borderline fairytale alpine views.
Mount Evans Byway

This drive is only available for a narrow window during the year because of the high elevation and potential for snow. If you're planning to do this drive, make sure to do it between Memorial Day and Labor Day in order to avoid any road closure headaches. The Mount Evans Byway is a rare chance to motorcycle up a 14er, which means that a good amount of the trip is spent driving above the timberline. While this drive can certainly get chilly—especially if you opt to do it early in the day—it offers mountaintop views unlike any other trip on this list.
