Buffalo Bill's house is on the market, for $298,500.
Horror movie buffs will be thrilled to hear that the home featured in the iconic 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs is up for sale.
However, anyone looking for the killer basement dungeon will be out of luck. The home and grounds were used as the exterior location of the psychological thriller, and the inside was never shown on film—those scenes were all shot on a movie set.
While the movie took place in Illinois, the home is in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania— an hour’s drive from Pittsburg. The Queen Anne-style three-story Victorian home that was the abode of fictional killer Buffalo Bill sits on 1.76 acres along the Youghiogheny River and is listed for $298,500.
Built in 1910, the home is quite lovely inside, not anything like was depicted in the movie.
Several of the home’s original features have been preserved, including the original hardwood floors, art, light fixtures, pocket doors, fireplaces, wallpaper, and woodworking. Along with those historical elements, the home has had modern improvements; the gazebo and wrap-around porch have been refloored, the hardwood floors in the attic have been refinished, a fountain and rose garden have been added in the front, and more.
A detached oversized three-car garage that served as the Post Office, train station, and Layton General Store in the 1880s, in-ground pool with a ceramic-tiled deck and vintage caboose add to the appeal of the property. The three-story home has four bedrooms, one full bath, and a ton of classic charm.
The property located at 8 Circle Street is listed with real estate duo Eileen Allan and Shannon Assad of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.

The Silence of the Lambs starred Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster, and won seven Academy Awards in 1992, including Best Picture. It will forever be one of the top horror films of our time and scares people right out of their skin, even today.
What do you think about the interior of this home? We can totally picture a horror movie-themed dinner party becoming a Halloween tradition if this was our humble abode. Sound off in the comments with your thoughts.
