Get ready to rock out this July at four upcoming performances celebrating one of the greatest eras of music.

Rock 'n' roll is here to stay — just look at what's coming up in Virginia Beach. 

This summer is jam-packed with an array of festivals and concerts that highlight all genres of music, and a few of these performances feature some of the most iconic names in the music industry, such as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Chicago.

But it doesn't stop there.

For those of you who want to rock 'n' roll all night and party every day, look no further for a list of upcoming concerts sure to cater to your rock-music-loving soul.

Sandstock – A Tribute to Rock and Roll | June 29–July 1

Kick off your 4th of July celebration at Sandstock, a music festival inspired by Woodstock that features tribute groups honoring various rock bands, such as Van Halen and Aerosmith. Hot for Teacher, Draw the Line, Rumours, and more will perform at the beach on two dueling stages, the Hippy Dippy Stage and the Flower Power Stage. The performances are free to the public, and a full schedule of the festival can be found at the event's website.

Lynyrd Skynyrd: Farewell Tour | July 6

Formed in 1964, Lynyrd Skynyrd is a band that has experienced great success and great loss, all while leaving its mark on classic rock. With iconic hits such as "Free Bird," "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Simple Man," Lynyrd Skynyrd earned its place among the best of the best when the group was inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. This summer marks its final tour and will also have performances from Cheap Trick, 38 Special, and Foghat.

Chicago and REO Speedwagon | July 18

Chicago and REO Speedwagon, two rock powerhouses with careers dating back to the late '60s, have joined forces this summer in a co-headlining tour. Combined, the bands have sold 140 million records, and in 2016, Chicago was inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame. The bands pride themselves on their "Midwest rock 'n' roll ethic," and their upcoming performances are sure to highlight their newest songs as well as their greatest hits, including Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" and REO Speedwagon's "Keep on Loving You."

Dave Matthews Band | July 21

In 1991 in Charlottesville, Virginia, Dave Matthews Band was born. Now, more than 25 years later, the group is still producing music, including a brand new album titled Come Tomorrow that was released earlier this summer. With their mix of new and old, this live performance is sure to combine the best of the '90s with today.
