Located in the Southwest neighborhood, the District Wharf has recently been renovated and provides visitors with fun and relaxing activities!
The District Wharf has opened up and boasts many cool restaurants, bars, and sights! Before this bold renovation project began, the Wharf was overlooked and largely empty except for the historic Municipal Fish Market. Now new life is being brought to this charming area.
The $2.5 billion development project is a collaboration between the city of Washington, D.C., and developers PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette. The District Wharf opened up in October 2017 and has been booming since then with both tourists and locals. Check out this area for yourself and enjoy an exciting day by the waterfront.
The Piers

It has been a staple of the neighborhood for years and provides some old fashioned charm to the newly designed area. The Anthem hosts many artists such as Lorde, Beck, and The Decemberists. This concert venue can hold up to 6,000 people and has food and drinks available. For a more cozy vibe, head to Pearl Street Warehouse. This cool venue has an open kitchen all day which makes burgers, sandwiches, tots, and more. Spend a few hours rocking out!
Food, Lots of Food
The District Wharf offers tons of options -- from more casual options such as Ben & Jerry's and Shake Shack to Del Mar de Fabio Trabocchi, with fresh seafood and Spanish cuisine.Drinks

One favorite, Cantina Bambina, has food on the first floor and a rooftop bar on the second floor with margaritas and import beers! The District Wharf shops provide many options no matter what you're shopping for! Visitors could spend hours alone strolling through the aisle of Politics and Prose bookstore. This independent bookstore has whole sections perfect for the D.C. resident such as local history and political science. While on the waterfront, why not take a boat ride? The Wharf Water Taxi takes visitors to Old Town Alexandria, Georgetown, and the National Harbor. One-way tickets are $10, and round-trip tickets are $18. For a free ride, hop on the Wharf Jitney to travel to East Potomac Park.

At night, The Torch on the Recreational Pier becomes a 14-foot gas-powered fireplace. Hang out around The Torch and take in the waterfront views.
