"Potato Boss" is our new favorite internet star.

Lizet Ocampo is like many of us, hunkered down at home and trying her best to work from home. Ocampo, a political director at a nonprofit organization called People for the American Way, has been holding video calls with her team, as many of us are.

However, on a recent video call, she ran into a bit of a mishap and has since gone viral thanks to one of the team members sharing said mishap on Twitter.

Ocampo had previously downloaded some fun profile filters for a video happy hour, and once applied, she couldn't figure out how to remove them. So when it came time for Monday’s meeting, her face still showed up looking like a potato, with a bit of an odd expression on it. The result was one really funny meeting and lasting internet fame as the “potato boss”.

Her team needed the laugh, and though she didn’t understand why she was a potato, Ocampo figured that adding a little humor to the day wouldn’t be a terrible thing. Ocampo told TIME Magazine a little more about what she was thinking that day:

“I did not get what was happening. I was like ‘why am I a potato out of all the things? I do try to bring some humor into the meeting and that’s part of the reason why I left the potato on, I couldn’t take it off.”

She went on to say, “A lot of people said they really needed this laugh at this time. I’m laughing even harder because it’s me, but I would laugh if it were someone else. I was also laughing especially at this time when things are really rough for everyone especially first responders and people who still have to work in essential jobs every day.”

Here's the original tweet:

With so much uncertainty in the world and workplace right now, this was exactly what the internet needed to hear this week. The post has gotten over 925,000 likes and been shared almost 220,000 times!

Ocampo is taking it all in stride and is pretty lighthearted about the whole thing. At a time when the world needs laughter, she is happy to provide a reason to smile. In fact, she addressed the whole thing with a tweet of her own:

I yam potato boss. You should see me in a crown, right @billieeilish? I yam glad this is making folks laugh at this time. Please stay planted at home and safe! For more needed laughs, follow my favorite comedian @cristela9 . Potate out. #HASHtag #PotatoBoss https://t.co/OxpidZc921

The response from the Twitterverse has been fantastic, as people are looking for anything to take their minds off of reality right now—and let’s face it, who doesn’t want to see their boss as a talking potato?!
