Starting today through May 5, you can help an adult dog find a fur-ever home.

Are you looking for a canine companion? A furry friend? The Denver Dumb Friends League wants to help.

This weekend only, from May 3-5, the organization is waiving adoption fees for adult dogs one-year-old and older. Waived adoption fees are available at both the Quebec Street Shelter in Denver and the Buddy Center in Castle Rock, so you can add a member to your pack at the location nearest you.

If you find the pet of your dreams, all adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip ID, and a free office visit with a participating veterinarian. The standard adoption screening process still applies during all waived-fee events to ensure the animals are going to loving families.

If you miss this event, keep an eye on the DDFL's special adoption event calendar, as they often offer specials to help you and your next pet find each other. In addition, the organization is also offering:

  • Double the Love – Adopt two adult cats for the price of one
  • Current Military and Veterans – 50 percent off one adoption fees
  • Senior Citizens (65 and older) – 50 percent off one adoption fees

And, if you want to help the DDFL care for and place pets, please consider donating.

"We offer adoption specials almost every week. Please keep in mind that our adoption fees don’t come close to covering all the costs of caring for the thousands of animals that come to us each year. Generous donations make up the difference. Thank you for your support of all of the homeless pets in our care!" says DDFL.

The DDFL has several dogs that are waiting for their fur-ever families. Here are some of the furry friends that are available for adoption-fee waivers (as of May 3).
