We all know that Colorado is home to breathtaking landscapes, but did you know that many of those picturesque views can be found on the greens of a golf course? We've done some digging and compiled a list of the top golf courses our great state has to offer. So grab your trusty iron and let's get to it!

Fossil Trace Golf Club

Located in Golden, the Fossil Trace Golf Club has been entertaining golfers since 2003. The course is surrounded by the Rocky Mountain Front Range, which means that the terrain and hills are unlike any other golf course on our list. Fossil Trace is also known for its relics, including prehistoric fossils along the 12th green. There's also an exhibit solely dedicated to the dinosaur fossils if you're interested in learning more.

The Ridge at Castle Pines North
The Ridge at Castle Pines North has been praised and lauded by several publications, including Golf Magazine, Colorado Avid Golfer, and Golf Digest, among many others, and for a good reason. With its open terrain and spacious fairways, The Ridge gives golfers uninterrupted views of Pike's Peak, Mt. Evans, Devil's Head, and downtown Denver.

Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel
This golf course was designed by none other than Arnold Palmer! Practice your drive at the club's driving range, get a lesson by a professional, or get competitive with your friends at the short game area, which consists of two chipping greens, two sand bunkers, and one grass bunker.

The Golf Club at Bear Dance
Known for its high elevation (6,800 feet, to be exact!), The Golf Club at Bear Dance spans 753 acres of mountainous terrain and offers gorgeous views of the Front Range, as well as the Rocky Mountains. It's also been considered one of the state's most challenging public golf courses, so maybe get a few practice swings in before you go.

Legacy Ridge Golf Course
The Legacy Ridge Golf Course has been around since 1994 and was designed by Arthur Hills, who has designed more than 200 golf courses around the world! The course takes advantage of its surroundings, with beautiful mountain views, prairie grasses, wetlands, and more, all of which make for a fun (and unique) experience.

Meadow Hills Golf Course
Once a country club, the Meadow Hills Golf Course has been around since 1957 and even hosted the Denver Open in 1961. As you step onto the green, the feel of an old-style country club is apparent. If you're looking for a bit of a challenge, this is the course for you.

Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course
Located in Castle Rock, the 6,830-yard course was designed by Jim Engh, an award-winning golf course architect, and has been around since 1999. Not only can golfers enjoy bluegrass fairways and rolling terrain, but there's also a driving range and putting green.
