Yes, that's right. Shipping containers.

A Boulder home recently hit the market for $3.15 million, and the 4,000-square foot, four-bedroom, four-bathroom property sits at the foot of Flagstaff Mountain. The home was built in 2012, and the entire second level of the house is built from two 53-foot shipping containers. It was the first home in Boulder to use shipping containers as part of a modular home structure.

Mark Gelband and Courtney Loveman built the unique home located at 505 College Avenue using the shipping container and reclaimed wood and steel. The property is a work of art, blending creativity, sustainability, and functionality.

Custom-built from top to bottom, the 1,800-square-foot lower level has concrete floors, high ceilings, and huge windows, and used 100-year-old reclaimed wood. An open-air kitchen is spacious and bright, welcoming all who enter, and the adjoining living room opens to a patio outdoor kitchen and firepit.

The master bedroom has a private staircase, two private decks, a large walk-in closet, and a small sitting area. Two of the upper-level bedrooms share a 500-square-foot outdoor deck.

A mix of outdoor and indoor living, this home is truly a one-of-a-kind creation and shows the love and care that went into the project. The property is listed with Zach Zeldner of Compass. Check out a virtual tour of the home below:
