Oops, they've done it again!
AdvancedPierre Foods issued a recall on Monday for 20,300 pounds of frozen ready-to-eat beef patties for containing "extraneous materials," specifically soft purple plastic pieces. There have been two customer complaints so far.
The recalled products were produced on November 30, 2018, bear establishment number EST. 226OE, and were shipped to food service locations nationwide, including schools.
Although the food was shipped to schools, it was not part of the food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program.
What is being recalled: 14.06-lb. cases containing three bags with 30 pieces for a total of 90 portions of “CN FULLY COOKED FLAME-BROILED BEEF PATTIES CARAMEL COLOR ADDED” with case code 155-525-0 and package code 8334.
According to the USDA's website, "These items were shipped to food service locations nationwide. While the product was distributed to schools, it resulted from a commercial sale and was not part of food provided by the USDA for the National School Lunch Program. FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in food service freezers. Food service locations who have purchased these products are urged not to serve or consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase."
What to Do
Contact your physician if you have consumed some of the contaminated product. You may dispose of the beef patties properly or return them to the store of purchase for a full refund. AdvancePierre Foods is urging customers not to consume the product.
