If you've been toying with the idea of going vegan, then Veganuary may be just the thing you need to take the plunge.
The concept is simple: take the month of January to try and go completely vegan. The Veganuary movement was created in the UK and continues to be spread around the world through social media. To date, over 300,000 people have signed up to take part in 2020.
Participants are taking to Twitter to share their vegan meal ideas and general tips about how to stay on track. Some do it for their health, others for the environment, but they all have the opportunity to link up with others taking the meatless pledge.
So I’m taking the plunge and doing #Veganuary! So far, so good... I’ve already made my first #vegan Béchamel 👌🏻 Excited to try a new challenge, cook more, and hopefully reduce my environmental impact 🌾🌱💚 pic.twitter.com/taJRDHYgar

Hands down the hardest part of being #vegan is the criticism; especially from family and friends. In the beginning it can be particularly difficult and you may feel isolated at times but please remember that you’re not alone and there is a whole community here to help. #Veganuary

Though it originated in the UK, the Veganuary nonprofit group is making a push for the movement to go global. All you have to do to officially join the movement is go online, sign the pledge, and go forth to eat your yummy plant-based foods. You can join the Veganuary Facebook community to chat with others and get some great recipes and advice.
