Sunday will be your last chance to say goodbye to the iconic Colorado restaurant.
Known for serving up family-style chicken dinners, along with its live music entertainment, petting zoo, and country store, White Fence Farm has been a staple in Denver for decades, often playing host to holiday dinners and birthday celebrations.
But after 45 years, the restaurant will be shutting its barn doors for good on December 30. So if you're itching to get one last fix of their fried chicken or corn fritters, make a reservation and pay a visit before this Sunday.
The restaurant will have regular operating hours until its final day.
Over the last year or so, the restaurant has run into some financial difficulties and struggled to keep up with the booming restaurant scene in Denver, according to general manager Whitney Carloss in a statement. Employment was also a contributing factor in the decision to close.
"We require 100-plus employees on weekends, and it was becoming nearly impossible to staff the restaurant with qualified staff," said White Fence Farm owner Craig Caldwell. "We wish we could have kept this tradition open longer, but it was apparent that the changing demographics of our market were having an impact on revenue year over year."
And, unfortunately, White Fence Farm isn't the only beloved restaurant we've had to say goodbye to this year. In September, downtown's Old Spaghetti Factory shut down after nearly 50 years of service.
