Hope for Life Rescue, Inc. | Virginia Beach

Hope for Life Rescue, Inc., is an amazing nonprofit shelter located at 610 Jack Rabbit Rd, Ste 3., in Virginia Beach. When you get there, you'll find them in the third building to the left – by the big yellow truck! See their available animals on their Facebook page

Jake Gyllenhaal, 1

Mr. Jake is quite the goofy little boy! He's hard to miss because he has the cutest ears, and he shakes from excitement when he sees you! Jake sat here looking through the fence the entire time I was in the shelter, except when I bent down to pet him and spend time with him! He does enjoy being picked up and carried and is actually a quiet little dude so you won't have to worry about all the barking. Jake is very small in stature but his heart is large and in charge! If you want to make this man yours, check him out here

Dio, 2

Dio, Cat

Miss Dio and I haven't had very many interactions, but the few I have had with her were positive. She hid in this cat bed the entire time I was in the room, but when I was able to coax her out, she asked for attention and was generally sweet! Dio did not let me pick her up, but she was willing to let me pet her. She would do best in a quiet home where she can relax as much as she wants to. If you want to make her a member of your family, check her out here!

Virginia Beach SPCA (VBSPCA)

The Virginia Beach SPCA is a private-run shelter, meaning they do not get any government funding and are in the Hampton Roads area at 3040 Holland Rd., in Virginia Beach. Check them out on their websiteFacebook, and Instagram!

Benny, 2

Benny, Dog

Benny spent the first two years of his life tied up outside so he is learning how to be a puppy and is slowly understanding what a genuine human connection means. If you are a patient owner who can take him for daily walks and help train him up, then please consider taking this young boy home!

Romeo, 10

Romeo, Cat

"Romeo, oh Romeo, wherefore art thou, Romeo?" Please ignore the grumpy expression on his face; he's actually a very affectionate cat who can even be playful at times. Romeo is looking for someone to give him some love and care. He would prefer a quiet home where he can lounge around all day! Consider him, here!

Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center

The Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center is another local VB shelter located at 341 S. Birdneck Rd. in Virginia Beach. Check them out on their websiteInstagram, and Facebook. Check out their adoption process and fees here!

Bruiser, 10

Bruiser, Dog

This spunky boy came to the shelter as a stray. Only 45 pounds when he was found, he has diligently gained weight ever since. Bruiser has lived previously with a family because he showed staff that he is house-trained and knows basic commands! He is a labrador mix so he is in need of an active owner who can take him for daily walks or runs. If you want to make him a member of your family, check him out here!

Lovebug, 1-5

Her name describes her personality perfectly! Lovebug is a very social cat who lives out her days begging for attention as much as she can! She's an all-black kitty except for the single white spot on her chest, so she will be easy to spot in dark places! Bring her into your home, here!

Chesapeake Animal Services

Chesapeake Animal Services is a local shelter located at 2100 S. Military Hwy, in Chesapeake. You can check them out on their websiteFacebook, and Instagram.

Sage, 1

She's the happiest dog around and will be the sunshine on a gloomy day! Sage is a hyperactive one who will require an active partner to take her for daily runs. Consider her, here

Midnight, 4

Pepper, 2

Pepper, Dog

There is a ray of sunshine above her. Can you see it? Pepper is the definition of a perfect dog! She's incredibly sweet and high-energy but walks perfectly on the leash, is phenomenal with people, ignores other dogs (she doesn't like them), and loves children! She would require an owner that could take her on daily walks or hikes to the park! Please consider her here!
