Check out this week's pets up for adoption!

As we descend upon the warmer months, we want to spend more time outdoors -- and what better way to do that than by adopting an animal in need? We have compiled a list of the cutest pets available.

Check out these adorable options this week!

**All animals featured have been spayed and neutered*

Hope for Life Rescue, Inc. | Virginia Beach

Hope for Life Rescue, Inc., is an amazing nonprofit shelter located at 610 Jack Rabbit Rd, Ste 3., in Virginia Beach. When you get there, you'll find them in the third building to the left -- by the big yellow truck! See their available animals on their Facebook page!

Willow, 1

A beautiful Staffordshire Terrier Mix, Willow is just the sweetest girl. When I visited Hope for Life Rescue, she trotted right up to me, super-excited and just begging for belly rubs! She does act timid and nervous around children, so she should not go to a young family. She needs a big fenced-in yard that will allow her to run and play. Willow came from another shelter, where she was actually the staff favorite. Check her out here!

Bing Clawsby, 6

Courtesy of Caitlin Helveston

Bing Clawsby will be your right-hand man and number-one dude. Though he did take time to say hello, Bing did not seem to care that I was there. He is very laid-back and would most likely do best in a home with plenty of places to sleep and someone who will just let him be. Bing Clawsby typically keeps to himself and is not bothered by the other cats in the cat room. Ready to meet your new best friend? Please check him out here

Virginia Beach SPCA (VBSPCA)

The Virginia Beach SPCA is one of the local government-run shelters in the Hampton Roads area and can be found at 3040 Holland Rd., in Virginia Beach. Check them out on their website, Facebook, and Instagram!

Winnie, 9

Courtesy of the VBSPCA

Full of energy, Winnie is a beautiful hound mix who is as affectionate as can be. And despite her age, she is lively and thriving! Winnie is great with other animals, loves to go for walks, and of course, has to play fetch. Since she is a very curious girl, she likes to stick her nose into things that she shouldn't and would require a house with a crate. Check her out here!

Klaus, 7

Courtesy of the VBSPCA

Don't let the resting whatever face fool you; this chill guy is perfect for those lazy days -- he loves to snuggle in your lap. Klaus is a little shy at first but warms up to others quickly. Check him out here!

Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center

The Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center is another local VB shelter located at 341 S. Birdneck Rd. in Virginia Beach. Check them out on their website, Instagram, and Facebook.

Dolce, 9

Dolce is a sweet, playful, and friendly gal who is house-trained and good with kids! She may not be good with cats or small dogs, though, so take that into consideration when choosing her (bring along your children and other pets to meet her!). Don't worry about her age -- Dolce's still going strong and would make an excellent companion! Check her out here!

Misty, 12

Courtesy of Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center

Loving and gentle, Misty likes to keep to herself. Though she loves to be petted, she also likes to hide in boxes or covered cat beds so she can catch some zzz's. Brought to the shelter as a stray, Misty is great with other calm cats and has an all-around loving personality. Check her out here!

Chesapeake Animal Services

Chesapeake Animal Services is a new local shelter located at 2100 S. Military Hwy, in Chesapeake. You can check them out on their website, Facebook, and Instagram

Diamond, 12

Courtesy of the Chesapeake Animal Services

In her senior years, Diamond was surrendered on March 7 because she was stressed out by the kids in the home. She would do best in a quiet home, where she could live out the rest of her life peacefully. Diamond is a beautiful Australian Shepherd Mix and is housebroken, so no training is needed. How can you possibly resist her smile? Check her out here!

Athena, 2

Courtesy of the Chesapeake Animal Services

Athena is a domestic long-haired mix who came into the shelter on March 5 as a stray. Not much is known about her at this time, but she has been described as sweet and sassy -- Athena is a goddess after all! If you want to consider taking her in, check her out here!

Just look at her gorgeous coat pattern; she's so fluffy and would make a great cuddle partner!

Norfolk SPCA

The Norfolk SPCA is the local shelter to the Norfolk area and can be found at 916 Ballentine Boulevard, in Norfolk -- check them out on their website and Facebook!

Wonder Woman, 3

Courtesy of Norfolk SPCA

Wonder Woman is a young hound mix who is very sweet, smart, and loveable. On the smaller side, she is a goofy and energetic hound who really loves to play with other dogs and hang out in the sun. The Norfolk SPCA is requesting that she be placed in a home with other kids. Bonus, she gives the best hugs! Not much else is known about her, but you can check her out here!

Ace, 2

Courtesy of Norfolk SPCA

Ace is the man of the hour -- the master at his craft of getting all of the attention. He likes to lounge around on top of the cat tower guarding over you! As for feline friends, he'll take them or leave them, so he's your guy if you already have other pets. Ace was transferred to the Norfolk SPCA from Virginia Beach Animal Control and is very outgoing and affectionate. He would do great in a home with other cats and kids but has not been around dogs much, so that is unknown. Check him out here!

Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter | Newport News

The Peninsula SPCA is more than just an adoption shelter; they're a petting zoo. Popular to the locals, you can find them at 5843 Jefferson Ave., in Newport News -- check them out on Facebook, Instagram, and their website! The shelter performs a behavioral test on each animal while they are at the shelter so they can provide a thorough description.

Roxas, 3

An all-around great pup, Roxas is a sweet pit bull mix who loves car rides and is a great listener. He might be a little shy at first, but he will open up as he gets to know you. In addition to drives in the car, Roxas enjoys belly rubs, walks, and yard work. If you have small children or other pets, he would probably need to meet them first. Check out this sweet boy here!

Andy, 3

Andy loves both giving and receiving affection! He did come into the shelter as a stray, so not much is known about him. If you would like to meet this sly guy, check him out here
