Welcome to Our Community Now (OCN)! Along with other community-based news organizations, and in the interest of transparency, we have established Terms and Conditions for our visitors and contributors to read. We encourage you to read these Terms and Conditions before using any of OCN’s Platforms, and before submitting any content in any form or medium for publication by OCN. OCN reserves the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice, and you agree to be bound by such changes via your continued use of the site or submission of content. Unless otherwise expressed, these Terms and Conditions apply to all new features or functionalities on OCN that support and enhance your experience of OCN’s Platforms. Definitions for this paragraph and the rest of the Terms and Conditions are below.

Definitions:

OCN’s Content: All Content on OCN is protected by copyright as a collective work or compilation under the copyright laws of the United States and other countries, and OCN has all rights therein, subject to the limitation of the rights of our licensees and licensors under applicable agreements or arrangements. All opinions and positions expressed in OCN’s content are the opinions and positions of the individual content generator; publication or dissemination does not constitute OCN’s endorsement of such opinions and positions, unless explicitly stated to the contrary.

Submitting Content: Community-generated Content is welcomed and encouraged. When you provide Submitted Content to OCN, you grant us an unqualified, unconditional, unlimited, worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, fully paid, fully sub-licensable, assignable and transferable license and right to edit, use, host, cache, store, maintain, reproduce, display, exhibit, broadcast, transmit, modify, truncate, aggregate, distribute, reproduce, prepare derivative works of, perform, display, and otherwise fully exploit such Submitted Content in connection with OCN for any purpose, including but not limited to promotional and marketing, in any form or format, and on or through any media or medium and with, any technology or devices now known or hereafter developed or discovered.

Whether or not a separate agreement between you and OCN establishes a monetary fee for Submitted Content, you agree that for your Submitted Content to be considered for use is adequate consideration for the rights granted herein. Providing Submitted Content to OCN does not guarantee that such content will be published or used by OCN in any fashion. OCN has the right to reject use of Submitted Content for any reason whatsoever.

By submitting Submitted Content to OCN, you affirm that you are solely responsible for the submission and the consequences of publishing or disseminating it. You also agree to indemnify OCN for any claims arising out of the publication or dissemination of your Submitted Content, including but not limited to claims arising from breach any of the following representations and warranties. In connection with each piece of Submitted Content, you affirm, represent, and warrant the following: 1) that you own or have the necessary rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize OCN to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other property rights connected to the Submitted Content sufficient to enable use of such submissions in the manner contemplated by us and these Terms and Conditions; 2) that the Submitted Content is not bound by a third party’s intellectual copyright, trademark, patent, or exclusive license; 3) that you have reasonably verified assertions of fact and details in the Submitted Content and that the Submitted Content is free of libelous statements about any individual or entity; and 4) that you have not manipulated visual or audio content in order to intentionally create confusion or misrepresent truths about the subject-matter contained therein.

Submitted Events: OCN lists and shares information about community events. OCN retains the right to list or not list Submitted Events at our sole discretion. In general, a Submitted Event should appeal to a wide audience, meaning that it is open to individuals beyond an organization’s membership, and is likely to attract a reasonably large group of participants. OCN has the right to edit Submitted Event information for style, accuracy, grammar, and content. The listing of a Submitted Event by OCN on any Platform does not constitute the endorsement of OCN or OCN’s agents of the Submitted Event’s purpose, cause, positions, or organizers, unless explicitly stated to the contrary. OCN makes every effort to avoid errors in event listings and to keep event listings updated, but OCN is not responsible for any errors or outdated information. Organizers should check Submitted Event listings for accuracy and are required to inform OCN of any changes to the details of the Submitted Event listed on any of OCN’s Platforms. OCN is not liable for any loss or damage incurred by any party as a result of any error on OCN’s Platforms, any delay in listing a Submitted Event, any decision not to list a Submitted Event, or any decision to list a competing or contemporaneous event on OCN’s Platforms.

Third Party Websites: OCN’s Content and Platforms may link to third party websites for a variety of reasons, such as linking to an information source, content provider, or advertiser. OCN and its affiliates are not responsible for any of the content on third party websites, nor does a link to the website constitute an endorsement of its purpose or content by OCN or its affiliates. If you notice that OCN or one of its affiliates is linking to a questionable website, please inform OCN’s Support Team.

Privacy: By using OCN’s or its affiliates’ platforms, the user consents to the information-gathering and use activities described in OCN’s Privacy Policy.
