KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Around 2:30 Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, Kansas City, Kansas police responded to calls from a home reporting a man shot and killed.

The house sits due east of the 18th Street Expressway and Metropolitan Ave. and just south of the Kaw River.

Upon arrival, the man was found shot and killed inside the home.

Others were inside the house and are said to be cooperating with police but no one is yet in custody for the shooting.

Police are working to determine if the homicide took place inside or outside the home.

This is KCKPD’s first homicide investigation of 2025.
