Events on Friday, July 16

Cinderella (Cendrillon) | Savitri—In Concert! | Wolf Trap | Vienna, VA | Friday

Spend a night at the theater with not one, but TWO live performances! Summer Wine Festival & Sunset Tour | George Washington's Mount Vernon | Mount Vernon, VA | Friday-Sunday

Mount Vernon's biggest bash of the year has arrived, and it's a seasonal must! Sip amazing local wines while enjoying glorious views of the estate, as well as an appearance of George Washington to set the course. Plus, peruse the gift shop for unique goodies to take home with you—it'll be open later for the event. Each night goes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and tickets have already sold out for Saturday. Bastille Day 2021 | Embassy of France | Washington, DC | Friday

To kick off their reopening, the French Embassy is throwing the ultimate Bastille Day bash! Travel to the glorious French Alps with an authentic wine dinner, complete with a bewitching Offenbach composition, a silent auction, and a live band to keep things moving. We love a good restaurant week, and Bethesda hits all the stops for great cuisine! Through July 18, experience a variety of restaurants with $10, $20, and $35 lunch and dinner specials, ranging from Indian and seafood to gourmet chocolates. We're especially partial to Dog Haus Biergarten's meal deal—for $20, you'll get two of their signature hot dogs with a side of tater tots and a beer—but you can't go wrong with any of them! Events on Saturday, July 17

Petworth Community Market | Upshur & 9th St NW at Georgia Ave | Washington, DC | Saturday

For a low-key Saturday, swing by DC's Petworth neighborhood for their Community Market. Featuring bakeries, farms, and restaurants from all over the region, visitors can stock up on pantry essentials or grab a bite to eat with friends between May and November. Seltzerland 2021 | Rock Creek Park Golf Course | Washington, DC | Saturday

We have festivals for wine and beer—why not seltzer? Head out to Rock Creek Park Golf Course for a hard seltzer smorgasbord starting at 11 a.m. Featuring fan-favorite brands like Vizzy and White Claw, visitors can also take advantage of food trucks, photo ops, and games as they sample to their heart's content. The Catonsville Arts District just launched a new artisan market! Held every third Saturday at the Catonsville Clubhouse, shoppers can browse unique creations handcrafted by over 30 artisanal vendors. It's a great way to support your community and bring some wonderful art into your life! 160th Anniversary of the First Battle of Manassas | Manassas National Battlefield Park | Manassas, VA | Saturday-Sunday

Any Civil War buffs in the house? This weekend, join the National Park Service to commemorate the First Battle of Manassas! This two-day event covers an immersive tour of Manassas Battlefield Park, along with demonstrations, author panels, and other activities remembering one of the war's most famous battles. Community Days at the B&O | B&O Railroad Museum | Baltimore, MD | Sunday

FREE event! Enjoy museum admission on the house with special entertainment at the B&O Railroad Museum. Along with games and a train ride, visitors can meet the artists behind the museum's Street Art Project, which features an array of colorful murals on a train caboose. Silver Spring Arts & Crafts Summer Fair | Veterans Plaza | Silver Spring, MD | Sunday

Seeking one-of-a-kind items you can't find at the mall? Look no further than Silver Spring's Arts & Crafts Fair! Free admission will gain visitors access to over 60 local artisans at Veterans Plaza, along with food booths and live entertainment throughout the day.
