Founding Farmers

Founding Farmers is a triple winner, being featured on the list for its locations in Tysons Corner, Virginia; Potomac, Maryland; and downtown Washington, D.C. With all the hype across the DMV, Founding Farmers is a must! Their breakfast includes classics such as eggs benedict and French toast as well as chicken and waffles and poached egg hashes. What makes this restaurant such a high winner is probably its farm-to-table philosophy which ensures you are receiving the freshest ingredients.
Farmers & Distillers
Farmers & Distillers is another Washinton, D.C., farmer-owned restaurant, by the same people who brought you Founding Farmers. Their breakfast is an oasis for anyone with a sweet-tooth, featuring donuts, chocolate chip pancakes, and vanilla cream-filled French toast. The restaurant also sells a Brunch Bowl -- a blood orange screwdriver that serves 2-4 people.
Georgia Brown's
You might have to ditch your usual Sunday clothes for fancier attire for this upscale Southern restaurant. Georgia Brown's has a Sunday Jazz Brunch where you can order Carlonia gumbo, fried cornmeal crusted catfish, or the open buffet while enjoying live music.
Farmers Fishers Bakers
Another farmer-owned restaurant from the minds of Founding Farmers hits the list! Come hungry for the weekend all-you-can-eat brunch. For $32 a person, you can dine on cinnamon rolls, grilled thick-cut bacon, and breakfast jambalaya. Stretchy pants encouraged!
The Hamilton

The Hamilton is an iconic Washington, D.C., restaurant, located one block from the White House. Some stand-outs from their brunch menu include their lemon lavender scones and the breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, chorizo, beans, pepper jack cheese, potatoes, ranchero sauce, and sour cream.
Le Diplomate
Le Diplomate is the place to go if you want to bump into Washington's elite. This French restaurant naturally has an amazing brunch where you can order oysters, lobster, steak frites, and beef bourguignon.
Old Ebbitt Grill
Old Ebbitt Grill is another restaurant located just next to the White House. Its been open to district residents and tourists since 1856. This spot hosts breakfast every day! You can get a classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast. Other options include a wide variety of omelets, eggs benedict, breakfast sandwiches, and waffles.
The Smith
The Smith ranks on the 100 Best Brunch Restaurants list for its Penn Quarter location. The Smith is the place to go for a boozy brunch, serving bloody marys, bellinis, and other specialty cocktails. It also has cool creations such as the smoked salmon toast with ciabatta, lemon mascarpone, everything bagel spice, red onion, tomato and poached egg, and the breakfast pot pie with sweet sausage, bacon, cremini mushrooms, cheddar biscuit top, and sunny up eggs.
Tabard Inn

Tabard Inn is an adorable Washington, D.C., hotel in the downtown area. Come here and get some cinnamon sugar donuts for a starter and then enjoy classic breakfast meals such as corned beef hash, steak and eggs, quiche, ricotta French toast, and cheese grits.
