FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — A 16-year-old child charged with stabbing a Fairfax County police officer was released on Tuesday, officials said.

The early February attack left a six-year veteran officer hospitalized, and the teen was charged with malicious wounding, according to police.

Fairfax County Judge Michael Sprano made the call.
