Will your favorite shows and actors take home the gold? Or will there be some shocking surprises come Emmy night? Check out our predictions.
Hosted by Stephen Colbert, the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards show will be full of jokes, but who will come out on top in some of the biggest categories at this year's Emmys? And who actually deserves the top honors? Will freshman shows like "Westworld" and "This Is Us" rule the night, or will staple programs like "Veep" and "Modern Family" steal the show once again? Here are some of our predictions about the biggest night in television.
Drama Series
“Better Call Saul” (AMC)
“The Crown” (Netflix)
“The Handmaid’s Tale” (Hulu)
“House of Cards” (Netflix)
“Stranger Things” (Netflix)
“This Is Us” (NBC)
“Westworld” (HBO)
SHOULD WIN: "The Handmaid’s Tale."
WILL WIN: "Stranger Things" or "This Is Us"
Don’t get us wrong. We love all three shows, but nothing beats the sharp writing, relevancy, and beautifully haunting directing of "Handmaid’s Tale." But I guess cute kids can trump all that.

Comedy Series
“Atlanta” (FX)
“Black-ish” (ABC)
“Master of None” (Netflix)
“Modern Family” (ABC)
“Silicon Valley” (HBO)
“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” (Netflix)
“Veep” (HBO)
SHOULD WIN: "Atlanta"
WILL WIN: "Veep"
"Atlanta" was one of the most refreshing and critically acclaimed shows that premiered this past year. While that is the more exciting choice for the trophy, the voters probably went with the staple -- but also enjoyable -- "Veep."

Drama Actress
Viola Davis (“How to Get Away with Murder”)
Claire Foy (“The Crown”)
Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”)
Keri Russell (“The Americans”)
Evan Rachel Wood (“Westworld”)
Robin Wright (“House of Cards”)
SHOULD WIN: Elisabeth Moss
WILL WIN: Elisabeth Moss
This is her award to lose. Moss is a favorite of the award show, being nominated several times for her role on "Mad Men." Her portrayal of Offred on the Hulu series is heartbreaking and even more impressive due to the role not being the most talkative. (One of her scene partners, Alexis Bledel, took home the award for Guest Actress in a Drama for her haunting character). If it isn’t Moss, look for Claire Foy to follow up her Golden Globe win.

Drama Actor
Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”)
Anthony Hopkins (“Westworld”)
Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”)
Matthew Rhys (“The Americans”)
Liev Schreiber (“Ray Donovan”)
Kevin Spacey (“House of Cards”)
Milo Ventimiglia (“This Is Us”)
SHOULD WIN: Sterling K. Brown
WILL WIN: Milo Ventimiglia
This category is a bit tricky. It seems like it's going to be neck and neck with the leading men of "This Is Us" (sorry, Kevin). Brown surely gets the strongest material to work with, but Ventimiglia’s character is a favorite. A curveball may be thrown, and Matthew Rhys may actually take home the prize, but it should be between this father-son duo.

Comedy Actor
Anthony Anderson (“Black-ish”)
Aziz Ansari (“Master of None”)
Zach Galifianakis (“Baskets”)
Donald Glover (“Atlanta”)
William H. Macy (“Shameless”)
Jeffrey Tambor (“Transparent”)
SHOULD WIN: Donald Glover
WILL WIN: Donald Glover
Donald Glover is such a subtle comedic actor that it makes the hilarity and sometimes creative insanity of "Atlanta" work.

Comedy Actress
Pamela Adlon (“Better Things”)
Tracee Ellis-Ross (“Black-ish”)
Jane Fonda (“Grace and Frankie”)
Lily Tomlin (“Grace and Frankie”)
Allison Janney (“Mom”)
Ellie Kemper (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”)
Julia Louis-Dreyfus (“Veep”)
SHOULD WIN: Tracee Ellis-Ross
WILL WIN: JLD
Don’t ever bet against JLD. If she wins the prize again, it will be her record sixth for the same role. Ross is her best competition, though, who brings heart and humor to her already hilarious show.
Limited Series
“Big Little Lies” (HBO)
“Fargo” (FX)
“Feud: Bette and Joan” (FX)
“The Night Of” (HBO)
“Genius” (National Geographic)
SHOULD WIN: "Big Little Lies"
WILL WIN: "Big Little Lies"
If you haven’t watched "Big Little Lies," have you lived? It has excellent acting, star-studded casts, perfect soundtrack, and of course, WOMEN HELPING WOMEN.

Limited Series Actor
Riz Ahmed (“The Night Of”)
Benedict Cumberbatch (“Sherlock: The Lying Detective”)
Robert De Niro (“The Wizard of Lies”)
Ewan McGregor (“Fargo”)
Geoffrey Rush (“Genius”)
John Turturro (“The Night Of”)
SHOULD WIN: Ahmed
WILL WIN: De Niro
Riz Ahmed gave a convincing and fascinating performance as a young man convicted (wrongfully?) of murder. But it is hard to beat a heavyweight like De Niro.

Limited Series Actress
Carrie Coon (“Fargo”)
Felicity Huffman (“American Crime”)
Nicole Kidman (“Big Little Lies”)
Jessica Lange (“Feud”)
Susan Sarandon (“Feud”)
Reese Witherspoon (“Big Little Lies”)
SHOULD WIN: Kidman
WILL WIN: Kidman
Nicole Kidman reinvented acting in 2017. (But also Jessica Lange is the supreme, so we will see).

Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
John Lithgow (“The Crown”)
Jonathan Banks (“Better Call Saul”)
Mandy Patinkin (“Homeland”)
Michael Kelly (“House of Cards”)
David Harbour (“Stranger Things”)
Ron Cephas Jones (“This Is Us”)
Jeffrey Wright (“Westworld”)
SHOULD WIN: Lithgow
WILL WIN: Lithgow
John Lithgow disappeared into Winston Churchill. He deserves the top honor at the Emmys.

Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Ann Dowd (“The Handmaid’s Tale”)
Samira Wiley (“The Handmaid’s Tale”)
Uzo Aduba (“Orange Is the New Black”)
Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”)
Chrissy Metz (“This Is Us”)
Thandie Newton (“Westworld”)
SHOULD WIN: Thandie Newton
WILL WIN: Thandie Newton
Thandie Newton brings life into a show about robots. She takes over every scene she's in, and if she doesn’t take home the award at the Emmys, it is a shame.

Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Alec Baldwin (“Saturday Night Live”)
Louie Anderson (“Baskets”)
Ty Burrell (“Modern Family”)
Tituss Burgess (“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”)
Tony Hale (“Veep”)
Matt Walsh (“Veep”)
SHOULD WIN: Tituss Burgess
WILL WIN: Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin’s impression of Donald Trump brought record viewers back to Saturday Night Live. That won’t go ignored at the Emmys.

Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series
Kate McKinnon (“Saturday Night Live”)
Vanessa Bayer (“Saturday Night Live”)
Leslie Jones (“Saturday Night Live”)
Anna Chlumsky (“Veep”)
Judith Light (“Transparent”)
Kathryn Hahn (“Transparent”)
SHOULD WIN: Jones
WILL WIN: McKinnon
Kate McKinnon is a shining star, and we should be grateful to bask in her comedic genius. Leslie Jones, too. This is a tough category.

Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie
Bill Camp (“The Night Of”)
Alfred Molina (“Feud: Bette and Joan”)
Alexander Skarsgård (“Big Little Lies”)
David Thewlis (“Fargo”)
Stanley Tucci (“Feud: Bette and Joan”)
Michael K. Williams (“The Night Of”)
SHOULD WIN: Skarsgård
WILL WIN: Skarsgård
Eric the vampire wasn’t as terrifying as the role Skarsgård played in "Big Little Lies." The way he was able to switch from loving to menacing was horrifying and acting gold.

Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie
Judy Davis (“Feud: Bette and Joan”)
Laura Dern (“Big Little Lies”)
Jackie Hoffman (“Feud: Bette and Joan”)
Regina King (“American Crime”)
Michelle Pfeiffer (“The Wizard of Lies”)
Shailene Woodley (“Big Little Lies”)
SHOULD WIN: Dern
WILL WIN: Dern
Laura Dern is a staple in Hollywood and has yet to win at the Emmys (despite being a five-time nominee). The memorable moments she cultivated in "Big Little Lies" made this her year.

Tune into the Emmys this Sunday at 8 p.m. (ET) on CBS to see if our predictions are correct.
