Every single year it's the same. Crisp weather brings out some of the greatest new television series -- and also, some of the worst. Here’s a round-up of some of the shows that have hit the airwaves this season. Which ones should you set up to series-record on your DVR? And which ones should you skip all together? Show by show, we'll spell out why some of them made the cut and others didn't.GOOD:
Mindhunter (Netflix) Set in the 1970s, two FBI agents dive into the world of the unknown and track the real-life monsters that haunt us. Based on true crimes and with only 10 episodes (so far), “Mindhunter” is the perfect show to binge. With an all-star cast, including Jonathan Groff, and cinematic visual effects courtesy of director/producer David Fincher, you'll easily get sucked into this mysterious world. It's even set in Virginia, which adds even more of a shock factor. White Famous (Sundays on Showtime) Produced by Jamie Foxx and starring Saturday Night Live alum Jay Pharoah, “White Famous” is bound to be one of the freshest comedies around. Based on the life of Foxx, Pharoah starts as a stand-up comedian looking for his big break in the spotlight. The writing is light and funny, but the story as a whole takes on the satire of Hollywood, which makes it even more special and unique. [caption id="attachment_4292" align="aligncenter" width="300"]

The Mayor (Tuesdays on ABC)
An inspiring actor decides to run for mayor to get publicity and then unexpectedly wins. While the plot seems silly, the show has a very promising start. With a relatively unknown cast (besides comedy greats Yvette Nicole Brown and Lea Michele), a charmingly comedic tone, and fun soundtrack with music by Hamilton's Daveed Diggs, it is a great way to relax in this stressful political climate.
The Good Doctor (Mondays on ABC)
While the marketing of this show was pretty cheesy, this show is as good as any medical drama can be. Freddie Highmore of “Bates Motel” fame stars as a surgical resident on the autism spectrum. While there are still ways for the freshman show to improve, there is heart and a strong cast leading the way. With fresh stories and medical mysteries, it can certainly keep an audience.

Me, Myself & I (Mondays on CBS) The plot is interesting enough. The show looks at the life of one man in different points of his life. Alex at 14, 40, and 65. Despite the creatively ambitious plot, it falls flat. Not even Saturday Night Live alum Bobby Moynihan can save this one. It's hard to invest in the characters when we know where they end up. Even if one makes it to 2042! The comedy fails, and the characters aren’t sympathetic. “This is Us” wants its plot back.
Dynasty (Wednesdays on the CW)
If you want a soapy teen drama with sex, family tensions, and hair-flipping, the CW is your network for that. But for some reason, this reboot is a bit lackluster. The acting is on-point, but the writing is a bit cliche and off. We teen drama fanatics deserve better.

Wisdom of the Crowd (Sundays on CBS)
What to say about this! Unfortunately, the talented cast of Jeremy Piven and Monica Potter is wasted on what some would say is an innovative plot. A tech innovator (played by Piven) creates a crowdsourcing website to solve his daughter’s murder. Yes. That is the plot. I’m not joking. Considering CBS is known for their procedural dramas, this one should last a while though.
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World (Tuesdays on ABC)
Jason Ritter is a gem. But “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” is not. Kevin is a guy that isn’t the luckiest, but his life is meant for something bigger. He discovers, with the help from a celestial being, that he has been tasked by God to save the world. The problem with this show is that it doesn’t know what to be. It is a clever comedy (like it's being marketed as)? Or is it a witty drama? A sci-fi thriller? Kevin, please save us and let us know.
