Why are you running for office?

To serve the people of Marylands 1st Congressional District by removing from office a career politician that serves himself and has lost touch with the people of the district. To introduce and promote legislation that will reign in government spending. To introduce and promote constitutional amendments for (1) congressional term limits; (2) A balanced federal budget. To actively work with locally elected state and county officials to develop a working relationship to benefit vital industries. Specifically, our farmers, our waterman, timber industry have been neglected far too long.

Do you believe, as President Joe Biden has said, that “democracy is on the ballot” and, if so, in what way?

No, democracy is not on the ballot. On the ballot for this and every election is the future of our constitutional republic. The republican form of government promised to every state in the union is being eroded by socialist policies of the democratic party. If elected republican leaders do not start taking aggressive action against these policies we will lose this republic.

Will you accept the presidential election result once the totals have been certified by the states and any legal challenges adjudicated?

Yes.

Do you support additional assistance for Ukraine’s military forces two years into Russia’s invasion?

Yes ONLY to the US donating surplus weapons. The United States can no longer afford to simply give away borrowed money to foreign nations. If Ukraine needs cash to make war purchases, they can borrow from the United States, or other countries, and pay it back after they win the war.

Should the United States be speaking out more clearly, as Maryland Sen. Chris Van Hollen has suggested, about civilian casualties in Gaza?

Does anyone really believe those responsible for causing civilian casualties in Gaza will stop killing people after the United States speaks more clearly on this matter? Instead of Gaza, let’s speak out more clearly on the 20,000 plus people murdered last year here in America, or the 1.4 million people injured from deadly assaults by criminals.

Should Congress act to protect abortion rights following the Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision?

No. This is something for the states to decide.

Should the federal government revise the way in which it allocates visas so Eastern Shore crab processing plants can employ seasonal migrant workers?

Yes. Thereafter, the entire immigration system needs to be reexamined.

As climate change continues to cause rising sea levels and more severe storms, the low-lying 1st Congressional District with its hundreds of miles of waterfront is regarded as especially vulnerable. What should Congress do to deal with this threat?

First, Maryland has thousands of miles of shoreline, not hundreds. Second, The Maryland Commission for Climate Change has a firm grasp on this matter. If congress becomes involved in a fully functional state program, it will most likely go sideways. So, beyond possible federal funding to assist Maryland with their plans, congress should leave this to the state experts.
