Even after they've acquired two offensive linemen this offseason, the Chicago Bears are expected to continue to look to upgrade their offensive line in free agency and the 2025 NFL draft.

While they've brought in reinforcements to a unit that allowed a NFL-leading 68 sacks last season in Caleb Williams' rookie season, in today's league, winning football is built from the inside out.

With the draft just over a month away, the mock drafts will start to take more of a clear picture fulfilling team needs as they progress through free agency. NFL.com analyst Charles Davis released his first mock draft following the scouting combine and a week of transactions across the league as teams prepare for free agency next week, and his focus on the Bears is intriguing.

Despite already acquiring Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney in trades this week, Davis believes the Bears front office will keep their focus on the trenches and address the offensive tackle position. With Braxton Jones working his way back from a fractured fibula, Davis has mocked this offensive tackle to the Bears with their 10th overall pick.

Round 1, Pick 10: Kelvin Banks Jr, OT, Texas

The selection of Banks would make sense, especially if the current regime feels he could takeover as the team's starting left tackle right away. Braxton Jones will be at a disadvantage coming off injury, and depth is always important, but it may boil down to how Ben Johnson views Banks fitting into his offensive line scheme.

"The Bears are already getting aggressive in the rebuilding of their offensive line, and that work continues in the draft. With Banks at left tackle and 2023 first-round pick Darnell Wright at right tackle, they have their bookends on the O-line for the next decade."

In his three-year college career, playing over 1,500 snaps, Banks allowed just four sacks in total, and is one of the top offensive lineman prospects in this year's draft class. He would continue to show a commitment to the offensive line overhaul and that keeping Williams protected is of the utmost importance.
