Grab a juicy ballpark frank at any of these Baltimore joints, for National Hot Dog Month.

Hot diggity dog! July is National Hot Dog Month, and as the summer heats up, there's nothing we crave more than a juicy hot dog. Do you like your hot dog plain-jane or drenched in condiments? How about seasoned with Old Bay? Whatever your tastes, Baltimore has some of the best franks in the Mid-Atlantic, which you can enjoy throughout the month and beyond.

Stuggy's

Since opening a decade ago, Stuggy's in Fells Point has become a neighborhood favorite for loaded-up, gourmet dogs. They might not be the cheapest (about $10-$11), but the creative combinations make them worth every penny. Enjoy some Maryland flair with the "Crab Mac and Cheese Hot Dog" or go to town with the "Frank Zappa," which comes with grilled peppers, onions, and Stuggy's house sauce on top of a cheese-stuffed bacon-wrapped wiener (our tastebuds are blown). For those who don't eat red meat, they offer vegetarian and turkey sausages as well. They're also open late on the weekends, making it the perfect haunt for a midnight snack!

Heavenly Hot Dogs

It's all in the name: these hot dogs are simply heavenly! This food truck at Northeast Market offers savory, slow-smoked meats and sides like baked beans and collard greens. Among their offerings are standard hot dogs as well as the creative "Signature Sausages" menu. "Dirty South" features fixings straight from your summer cookout—mustard, fried onions, BBQ sauce, chili cheese, and potato salad on a beef dog. Just add a side of their banana pudding to complete the backyard barbecue vibe!

G & A Restaurant

While we love quirky flavors as much as the next person, sometimes you just want a simple hot dog, and G & A Restaurant does the job. "Home of Baltimore's Best Coney Island Hot Dog," this diner started in 1927 selling hot dogs for only 15 cents. They might not be 15 cents anymore, but in 2020 they remain affordable and delicious. Try the G & A Coney Island Dog for $2.30 or the Polish Hot Dog for $2.95. For an extra 50 cents, you can top them off with cheese or coleslaw. You'll transport yourself to the boardwalk with a single bite!
