WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update: Three people were arrested, and two suspects are at large after a robbery in south Wichita led to a standoff at a west Wichita home Sunday morning.

The Wichita Police Department said the standoff ensued after a robbery that happened at a home in the 1000 block of South Ellis around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Two victims told Wichita police that five suspects entered their home armed with shotguns and handguns, forcing them into a bedroom at gunpoint. The victims were then restrained with zip ties while the suspects stole several electronics and three handguns.

Wichita police said the victims, who were familiar with the suspects, discovered that their phone and car keys were missing and tracked their location to the 13600 block of West Nantucket, a home in west Wichita that’s believed to be associated with one of the suspects.

Officers then responded to the home on West Nantucket around 4:40 a.m.

According to WPD, officers spoke with suspects inside the home through a Ring doorbell camera, but despite attempts to negotiate, the suspects refused to exit. The SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams were then called in to assist.

Wichita police are still searching for the two other suspects involved in the incident.

The 1500 block of N 135th Street between Ridgepoint and 13th was blocked off until early Sunday afternoon due to the standoff.

Anyone with information related to this incident is encouraged to contact WPD investigators at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
