One thing will always remain true about Vancouver: there’s always somewhere new and exciting to eat. So many, in fact, that it can be hard to keep track of them. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of some of the most exciting openings happening in and around the city. From Japanese-inspired markets to new cafes, here are all of the new restaurants coming to Vancouver. Aburi Restaurant Canada is at it again, this time bringing us another location of its premium Japanese Washoku concept, Aburi Market. Customers can expect to find Aburi Market’s signature freshly prepared grab-and-go sushi bentos, Japanese specialty snacks, and exclusive imported goods from Japan. However, this location will also feature a brand-new Japanese bakery concept, created in collaboration with its sister-venue
Wa-Bagel’s head baker, Yukiko Iikura. “Since launching Aburi Market Ambleside, we’ve always wanted to create a new bakery concept, and I’m excited to see what Yukiko creates,” said Seigo Nakamura, founder and CEO of Aburi Restaurants Canada.

The coffee shop shared with Dished that it will be taking over the Ramen One space and turning it into 404 Coffee Lab. The new space will feature an expanded food menu, offering pasta fusion dishes, curries, and a variety of desserts (including its popular buttermilk soft-serve ice cream), as well as two distinct seating areas, which 404 said are “designed for different kinds of experiences.” So, what are the two different areas? Similar to what Ramen One offered, one part of the store is dedicated as a solo diner zone created for minimal interaction. Guests will be able to order directly from their seats via a QR code and will have approximately a two-hour time limit to work, read, or take a breather. Staff will also be nearby if solo diners need anything. The other section is designed as a communal zone and will feature full-service bar-style seating, which 404 said is “ideal for friends catching up or new connections over a good meal.”
