Tell us something we don't know already, right? U.S. News and World Report just named the 15 best small towns in the U.S. for a vacation destination, and four of Colorado's popular mountain towns made the list.
Enough with the big-name theme parks and large, exhausting cities. U.S. News and World Report set out to name the best places to plan a vacay, particularly if you're into small-town charm. Only towns with fewer than 100,000 people were considered for the honor, earning bonus points for ample amounts of restaurants, attractions, and character. Breckenridge, one of Colorado's premier mountain towns, ranked No. 2 on the U.S. News list of "15 Best Small Towns to Visit in the USA," behind Sonoma, CA (No. 1). Steamboat Springs landed at No. 7, Aspen at No. 10, and Vail at No. 14. No other state made the list as many times as Colorado. (We're feeling the love, U.S. News!). Other towns that made the list include Asheville, NC; Park City, UT; and Jackson Hole, WY.Breckenridge, No. 2
