In a troubling incident emerging from the Wells-Goodfellow area, a 41-year-old man reported to police that he was the victim of a carjacking on Thursday. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department , the man stated that he was sitting in his son's grey 2009 Pontiac G8 on the 5800 block of Wells Avenue when two armed suspects approached the vehicle, effectively surrounding him.

The carjacking took place between midnight and 2 a.m., but the man was able to make it to the North Patrol Division to report the crime later that afternoon at around 5:30 p.m. He recounted to officers that the suspects, both wielding handguns, demanded he exit the vehicle. In compliance with their orders, he left the car, which allowed the suspects to take off with not only the car but also his personal belongings, which were still inside. Fortunately, the man did not sustain any physical injuries during the exchange, as detailed by the SLMPD.

As of now, the investigation into the carjacking is ongoing. Police have not indicated whether they have any leads on the identity of the two suspects.
