Cinco de Mayo celebrates the Mexican army's unexpected victory over Napoleon III's forces on May 5, 1862 (the Battle of Puebla). 30th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival Denver May 6 - 7 • 10 a.m. • Civic Center Park
This annual event is put on by the Santa Fe. Drive Redevelopment Corporation that brings together people in the community with art, food, and tons of Cinco de Mayo celebrating! This weekend kicks off with a colorful parade jam packed with dancing, music and costumes. The parade starts at Colfax and Welton at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and ends at Civic Center Park at the actual festival. Colorado Cinco de Mayo Soccer Tournament May 6-7 • Times Dependant • Riverside Soccer Complex
Male and female teams of all ages will compete against one another for a day of fútbol! The younger age groups will be playing 4 against 4 while the older age groups will be playing on larger teams. 2017 marks the 15th annual Longmont Celebrates Cinco de Mayo at Roosevelt Park! Thousands of people gather to join in on the fiesta, enjoy all the delicious food, find their new favorite ride at the car show and do some shopping! Don't forget to check out the chihuahua beauty contest too!
