Many are prepping their plants for 4/20, but Denver Earth Day is right around the corner and we've found some free events to celebrate the planet!

Saturday, April 22 is Earth Day! The Colorado weather is going to be bright and warm so grab your gardening tools, say "no thank you" to extra napkins, slap on your hemp t-shirts and celebrate this big blue and green marble we all live on! Check out these Denver Earth Day events going on in our city!

March for Science Civic Center, Denver  Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Denver Earth Day Each year, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. In such spirit, considering the current standing of our environmental organizations in the U.S., organizers have planned a March for Science at Civic Center Park (as well as all over the country). The march aims to defend science in health, safety, economies and governments. Organizers of the D.C. march state the national event sprung from "an alarming trend toward discrediting scientific consensus and restricting scientific discovering." Science and Earth lovers unite at the Denver Civic Center to march for our planet and please... for the love of Mother Earth... don't leave your signs behind.

Cherry Creek Trail Clean-Up Cherry Creek Bike Path & Wynkoop Street Saturday, 9-11 a.m.

Denver Earth Day LoDo Cares is kicking off its series of clean-up initiatives on Earth Day. Everything from gloves to trash bags will be provided for volunteers. Those who want to participate must complete and release a waiver liability, for safety's sake. The two hour long event will bring the community together by making Cherry Creek trail beautiful!

Let Your Garden Grow Centennial Center Park  Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Denver Earth Day Gardeners and flower lovers unite to support a great cause! Let Your Garden Grow is a huge plant sale benefitting local nonprofit Project C.U.R.E. The NGO provides donated medical supplies and equipment to developing countries.

Denver Earth Day Colorado State Capitol Saturday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Denver Earth Day Head to the Sierra Club to attend a great Denver Earth Day event that will include music, speakers, food trucks and breweries. At 12:45 p.m., attendees will circle the Capitol to rally for environment justice! Earth lovers unite!

Congress Park Earth Day Festival Capitol Heights Presbyterian Church Saturday, 1-5 p.m.

Denver Earth Day Don't miss out on the second annual Denver Earth Day block party by the Congress Park Neighbors Green Team! There will be music, food, art, games and tons of prizes. Explore hands-on exhibits about pollinators, recycling, composting and other green initiatives. Whether or not you want to attend an event on Earth day, it's important to recognize the meaning of the day. If anything – take a step outside, maybe take a walk or head to your nearest hiking trail and breathe in that amazing Colorado air!
