Here are 5 Underrated Colorado Mountain Towns that are well worth the visit. Glenwood springs was named “Most Fun Town in America,” although it still gets looked over by tourists, landing it a spot on our underrated Colorado Mountain Towns list. At the grand ol’ elevation of 10,152 ft. Leadville was once a bustling silver mining town but has since lost a large majority of their population. Leadville is a great example of one of our underrated Colorado mountain towns; tons of people are missing out on its compelling history and beautiful Victorian architecture. With beautiful 360-degree views, Buena Vista is aptly named. Not to mention, it also has Cottonwood and Mount Princeton hot springs that have top notch facilities. Pagosa Springs, Population: 1,727 Underrated Colorado Mountain Towns The drive down Wolf Creek Pass to Pagosa alone wins this mountain town. Pagosa has hot springs and tons of fun activities in the Weminuche Wilderness, Colorado’s largest. Pagosa is definitely worth the trip!
