There's still quite a bit of time before the big film festivals, like the Telluride and Denver Film Festivals, are on our calendars. To hold you over until the fall, we've found six film festivals around Colorado for you to enjoy. While the festivals are not as large as Telluride, they certainly can stand up against them.
Front Range Film Festival | April 20-23

For the fifth year, the Front Range Film Festival is the main event of "Colorado craft cinema" tests by Jake Fink. The "Colorado craft cinema" includes Lyons International Film Festival and events in Longmont (horror), Nederland (music) and Boulder (beer/tech).

5Point Adventure Film Festival | April 20-23

For 10 years, the 5Point Adventure Film Festival has offered Colorado residents films, art performances, and other community events for the entire family, all while taking advantage of the beautiful scenery. There will even be an ice cream social and community picnic!

Denver Silent Film Festival | April 28-30

Howie Movshovitz, a film critic and radio commentator, is bringing back the film festival for the sixth year in a row, and the second at the Alamo Drafthouse in Littleton. Not only will there be viewings of classic films all weekend long, but there will also be live music accompanying some of the films.

Telluride Mountainfilm | May 26-29

Similar to 5Point, the Telluride Mountainfilm combines the beautiful surroundings with a blend of outdoor-recreation and social justice-themed movies. There will also be free community events, presentations and interactive talks for guests to participate in!

Lyons International Film Festival | June 9-11

Part of Jake Fink's Colorado Festival Productions, the Lyons International Film Festival will feature a selection of small, independent films as well as films create by locals. The festival lineup is still being finalized, with about 30 films scheduled so far and more on the way.

Intendence Film Festival | June 23-25

This festival is a product of the Denver non-profit Open Media Foundation. There will be an opening night red carpet, opportunities for Q&As, and after-parties. This film festival will celebrate our beautiful state in many different forms of film. They are still taking entires until May 12.
