The Richmond Night Market is just a few weeks away from opening, and it’s announced a sky-high new addition to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

This year, guests will be able to take a ride across the market stalls and attractions on a 600-foot-long zipline. According to organizers, the attraction will be the world’s first “night market zipline” and will open to visitors in May.

“Picture thousands of visitors below, dazzling lights all around, and YOU flying
through the night sky, taking in the sights from a perspective like never before,” stated organizers in a release.

“With four ziplines side by side, riders can race their friends or simply take in the ultimate night market view!

The night market is adding a few other special additions for its quarter-century celebration.

One of these offers is the return of its popular Summer Happy Hour with special food and drink deals that are all under $10.

Last year, the owner of Firework Productions Ltd., Raymond Cheung, applied for an extension to the event’s temporary commercial use permit (at 8351 River Rd.), which would allow the event to operate this year until 2026, organizers said.

The Asian night market is known for its lavish food court, carnival atmosphere, and nightly entertainment, and it draws out more than a million people annually.

“I can’t think of anywhere that signals the start of summer quite like Richmond Night Market,” says Nancy Small, CEO of Tourism Richmond, in a press release.

“A true institution for those in the Lower Mainland and a popular attraction for visitors, it represents so much of the culture, tastes and vibrancy of our Richmond community. We are delighted to mark this special milestone of 25 years and can’t wait for guests to experience the world’s first night market zipline alongside all the vendors and entertainment that have made it such an enduring success!”

The 2025 Richmond Night Market officially opens to the public on April 25.
