Good news for National Mall visitors! You can visit these restaurants right around the National Mall for an authentic Washington, D.C., experience.

If you've ever been to the National Mall you know it is a beautiful and historic place -- that can sometimes also get very touristy. If you happen to get hungry while taking in so many monuments, you can walk around the National Mall and check out these places that are managing to stay under-the-radar!

1. GCDC Grilled Cheese Bar

This fast-casual grilled cheese spot has many guilty pleasure items such as a French onion grilled cheese, loaded tots, and chili. Guests can even make their own grilled cheese! Just a half a block from the White House, this spot won't take you far away from all the attractions!

2. Amsterdam Falafel

WherePrice range: $6-$10 This local chain is a Washington, D.C., favorite! Amsterdam Falafel offers rice bowls or pitas where guests can pick and add their own toppings to their falafel. This place was voted one of the best places to eat in Washington, D.C., by GQ Magazine and is right around the National Mall.

3. District Taco

Where: 1309 F St. NW, Washington, D.C., 20004 Price range: $6-$10 A few blocks up from the National Museum of American History, District Taco offers delicious burritos, tacos, and rice bowls. They also have breakfast all day long!

4. The Hamilton

This staple has plenty of seafood, sushi, steaks, and house-made pastas. The Hamilton also hosts live music, so get ready to relax with a cocktail and some local talent.

5. We the Pizza

We the Pizza offers over a dozen different pizzas so you and your family can try a bunch of different flavors. One of the best has to be "For the Greek in Us," featuring feta cheese, mozzarella, tomatoes, red onions, oregano, and olives. Another favorite is the "Colletti's Notorious BBQ Pie," which has slow-roasted pulled pork, BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, and crispy onions.

6. Tortilla Coast

Where: 400 First St. SE, Washington, D.C., 20003 Price range: $10-$13 Also near the Capitol building you'll find Tortilla Coast, a casual Tex-Mex eatery. If you stop by between 3:30 and 8 p.m., be sure to grab one of their happy hour deals -- like frozen margaritas or sangria!

7. West Wing Cafe

This eatery is located right by the Senate buildings (and Capitol) and offers Boar's Head meats as well as breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and coffee for the early-morning Mall visitors!

8. Sweet Home Cafe

Where: 1400 Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, D.C., 20560 Price range: $8-$18 You don't even have to leave the National Mall to eat at Sweet Home Cafe, located in the National Museum of African American History and Culture. This new eatery showcases authentic African American food from four distinct regions. You can eat at The Agricultural South, The Creole Coast, The North States, or the The Western Range.
