COLUMBIA — The 2025 WNBA season is officially full of former South Carolina women's basketball players.

Coach Dawn Staley had 12 former players on training camp rosters to start the preseason, and as of May 15, the final day before the season begins, she has nine former players officially on teams for the season.

Te-Hina Paopao and Sania Feagin , two of the three 2025 draft picks from South Carolina, made respective WNBA rosters as rookies.

With 13 WNBA teams with a maximum of 12 players on each, there are only 156 total roster spots across the league.

Bree Hall , a 2025 draft pick and two-time NCAA champion, was selected by the Indiana Fever in the second round on April 14, but she was waived on May 5. Mikiah Herbert Harrigan, who played at South Carolina from 2016-20, was waived by the Dallas Wings.

Despite scoring 20 points in a preseason game, Laeticia Amihere was waived by the Golden State Valkyries on May 14. She was selected No. 8 overall in 2023 after playing four years under Staley.

Aliyah Boston, Indiana Fever

Boston played for South Carolina from 2019-23 and won a national championship with Staley in 2022, the program's second. The 6-foot-5 forward was selected first overall in the 2023 draft by the Fever, and has played with the team since.

She was named Rookie of the Year in 2023 and is a two-time WNBA All-Star.

Kamilla Cardoso, Chicago Sky

Cardoso was Staley's first-round pick from the 2024 WNBA draft and the program's only draftee in that class. The 6-7 star center was selected third overall.

As a rookie, Cardoso averaged 9.8 points and 27.4 minutes per game with the Sky and started in 29 of 32 games.

She won two national championships with Staley, in 2022 and 2024.

Zia Cooke, Seattle Storm

Cooke, a 5-9 point guard, played for the Gamecocks from 2019-23 along with Amihere and Boston. She was selected 10th overall by the Sparks and played in 39 games her rookie season, averaging 4.8 points and 14.1 minutes per game.

After two seasons in Los Angeles and time playing for the Townsville Fire in Australia, Cooke signed with the Storm on Feb. 12.

Sania Feagin, Los Angeles Sparks

Feagin was selected No. 21 overall by the Sparks after spending four years in Columbia. The 6-3 forward started every game for Staley in 2024-25 and along with Hall, was part of the most successful class in program history.

She won two national championships, four SEC regular-season championships and three SEC tournament titles. She averaged 8.1 points per game as a senior and shot a team-high 60% from the field.

Allisha Gray, Atlanta Dream

Gray played only one season with South Carolina, after transferring from North Carolina. The 6-foot shooting guard was selected in the first round of the 2017 WNBA Draft with the fourth overall pick by the Dallas Wings, where she played from 2017-22.

After spending a year playing in Israel, she signed with the Dream in 2023.

Tyasha Harris, Dallas Wings

Harris played for Staley from 2016-20 and was part of the program's first national title in 2017.

The 5-10 point guard was selected as the seventh overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Wings, where she played until January 2023 when she was traded to the Connecticut Sun.

On Jan, 25, 2025, she was traded to the Phoenix Mercury, and then on Feb. 2, she was traded back to the Wings as part of a four-team trade.

Tiffany Mitchell, Las Vegas Aces

Mitchell played for South Carolina from 2012-16 and was traded to the Aces this offseason, reuniting her with former college teammate A'ja Wilson.

The 5-9 guard was taken in the first round of the 2016 draft with the ninth overall pick, and has spent time with the Fever, Minnesota Lynx and Sun. She's now starting her 10th WNBA season.

Te-Hina Paopao, Atlanta Dream

Paopao transferred to South Carolina for two seasons in 2023, after starting her career at Oregon. Paopao won a national championship with Staley in 2024, and finished her college career with a loss to UConn in the 2025 national championship game on April 6.

The versatile guard had almost a perfect game on May 10, finishing 5-for-6 from the field, including 3-for-4 from 3-point territory for a team-high 14 points in the preseason loss to the Indiana Fever.

She was taken with the No. 18 overall pick, the sixth pick of the second round.

A'ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces

Wilson just released her Nike signature shoes and is now preparing for her eighth season in the WNBA with the Aces.

After playing for Staley from 2014-18, she was the program's first No. 1 overall draft pick, and has since broken records at the professional level after leaving South Carolina the school's most decorated basketball player.

In 2024, Wilson won her third WNBA MVP award, and became the first player to reach 1,000 point in a single season. She's a two-time WNBA champion and a six-time WNBA All-Star.
