Only a few areas in western Nebraska remain drought free this week.

A severe drought now exists in a large portion of southeast Nebraska.

Lows overnight will remain warm for this time of year.

Very warm temps are expected in eastern Nebraska again tomorrow.

A significant cool down is expected Sunday making it feel more like Autumn.

A cold front will move south from the Dakota’s overnight and through the day on Friday cooling temperatures from west to east. The front will stall on the Nebraska/Kansas border through Saturday then finally move further south on Sunday leaving us with temperatures mainly in the 60’s. As a ridge of high pressure sets up over the Plains, cool temperatures will remain at least through next Wednesday, followed by another surge of warmth. An upper level trough and cold front arriving by next Friday could bring us rain and thunderstorms as Fall weather returns to the forecast after that front passes through.
